Elementary- Lifelong Learners

Education at West Heights Elementary is much more than academic success, we focus on providing students with the skills and attitudes to respect themselves, each other, the community and the world around them.

Our curriculum is designed to build on students’ previous knowledge and it is meticulously monitored, to ensure continuity and progression of learning, and to ensure our high academic standards are reached. Learning and development are constantly assessed through the use of a variety of formative and summative assessment techniques that measure students’ understanding of concepts, knowledge, skills, and attitudes.

Our program blends technology to support learning goals and active engagement by providing students with opportunities to collaborate and prepare for the intellectual challenges of further education, focusing on the development of the whole child as an inquirer, both in the classroom and in the world.

Our Language program is designed to allow students to become competent and confident speakers, readers and writers in English, Spanish, and French.
